Dear Emotional Growth Community,
We hope this message finds you and your family safe and healthy. We know that during this time everyone is under pressure and strain and most people are suffering somehow. We want to thank you for your patience concerning having to meet virtually.
Our number one priority is supporting our community through providing mental health care. We are also committed to ensuring your safety and physical health during this time of social distancing. We have received many questions about our plans to reopen the office. We want to assure you that we are considering all federal, state, and county guidelines in our consideration of reopening the office. Under these guidelines, there would be many new procedures to safeguard every individual person who would enter our office. For instance, no one could use the waiting room, you would have to wait in your car until we called you. We would have to meet you at the door with masks on so that we would be responsible for touching every doorknob and button. We would have procedures for hand sanitizing and wearing masks, etc…
Eventually we may have to do that, but for the time being we are concerned that such safety procedures and interactions would increase anxiety versus being therapeutic. We know that virtual sessions are often more difficult and we thank you for your patience concerning our current mode of communication. However, at this time we believe that for the population we serve, virtual appointments are currently the most appropriate.
When things change, we will immediately let you know. We are anxious to be back in our lovely office, meeting with each of you in person, but until that time we will keep serving you the best we can.
Please, let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Kati and Lindsay
